Spam Hash Browns

These air fryer Spam hash browns are a crispy, flavorful twist on a breakfast classic. Made with shredded Spam, frozen hash browns, egg, and cheddar cheese, they’re packed with savory goodness. For easy prep, freeze the Spam for about 30 minutes before grating it into the mixture. The air fryer gives these hash browns a golden, crunchy exterior without the need for deep frying. Perfect for a quick and easy breakfast or snack, they bring a satisfying crunch with minimal effort.

Ingredients

for 6 6 hash browns

  • 1.5 cups Spam®, shredded (1/2 can)
  • 1 20-ounce bag frozen shredded hash brown, thawed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine shredded Spam, thawed hash browns, egg, and cheddar cheese. Mix until evenly combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into 6 portions. Shape each portion into a 6-inch long oval.
  4. Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray. Working in batches, place the hash browns in the basket, making sure they don’t overlap.
  5. Cook for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until they’re crispy and golden brown on both sides.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.
  7. Enjoy!
